Hello, I know it’s been while since anyone has seen something from me. Well, I’ve been pretty busy.
Metallen.
An industrial and metallic folderset for Mac OS X and Windows XP and Vista.
This set currently includes forty finely-tunes pieces of pixel precision. This set is being expanded upon weekly, and should be released by the end of the summer.
More teasers for Metallen will be posted periodically.
Now that the boring part is out of the way, I guess I’d better give you guys a little background on this set. I have been working on it for four months now. It actually started on a seven-hour overseas flight, where one sleep-deprived individual could no longer stand the incessant wailing of the child in the adjacent seat. Since then, this set has probably evolved more than any that I have ever made before.
Yes, I was inspired by the wonderful Pry Frente set. The creator of those beautiful icons (among many others), has inspired my work for a long while, and I have viewed his work as a goal that I will someday attempt to achieve. Congratulations on him finishing his exams, and taking the hippocratic oath.
I am also determined to make Metallen a set with both objects and glyphs on the folders. As for the objects, I am trying not to use many that have been used before. As for the glyphs, I do not yet know how that will be done.
I have a few other icons and foldersets, even system-replacement sets, that I’ve been waiting to show you. I’ve been working on most of them over the past few weeks, along with some Icon Block client work. Once my workload lightens, I’ll have more time for these sets.
Want a sneak preview of this icon set? Then register on our blog, and you will be elegible for a beta version of these icons before their official release.
Please comment and let me know what types of folders you would like to see, and any other requests related to the set.
